Portfolio, Programme and Project Management Maturity Model (P3M3)
The Portfolio, Programme, and Project Management Maturity Model, or P3M3 is an assessment tool by Axelos. It is a recognized best practice maturity model for assessing organizational maturity and creating a roadmap for business improvement. This management maturity model estimates how an organization delivers its projects, programs, and portfolio(s) in a hierarchical approach by identifying key process areas (KPAs) which will make the most significant impact on performance. Unlike similar models, P3M3 does not focus solely on process maturity and compliance, it also analyzes the balance between the process, the competencies of the people who operate it, the tools that are deployed to support it, and the management information used to manage delivery and improvements.
Structure
P3M3 covers the common perspectives of the Portfolio, Programme, and Project management maturity models. These seven perspectives are assessed under specific attributes, the basis on which current maturity is assessed and plans for improvement can be made.

Each perspective in the P3M3 framework is assessed using a hierarchical five-level maturity rating, with each illustrating the capabilities an organization should possess at that level.
